The Wow Factor is back!
« on: May 14, 2021, 04:13:31 PM »
I want to thank everyone, especially  Tracy, Dave, Mike and Dylan!!!!

and a zillion others who help me reach a delightful conclusion. I learned so much and I was able to put it into actual practice. For example, many people feel that Trinnov made the best surround systems. Well the McIntosh 170 I bought is primarily made by Trinnov and even uses its apps. But McIntosh has added a balanced analog audio system in this so I can listen to my CD player, FM Tuner and Record Player.

When my system was set up just about a month ago I did have three problems.
1.  The handshake between the JVC 3000 and the McIntosh didn’t work.
2.  The JVC 3000 a 4K image on many of the inputs.
3.  The JVC 3000 and also did not give me the image I wanted. It was not bright enough, colorful enough and he didn’t have the “wow” factor I had with my previous  JVC DLA-RS66U and Vue Tech 108 screen.
My dealer had urged me then to get the new Sony projector that cost a fortune and was out of the picture and this site gave me great information on how to adjust my projector, but it also took two other cures. I have now the 3.52 file in my JVC and a new download for my McIntosh. The manufacturers knew that there were problems and were working to resolve them. My dealer called and we got the downloads.
Finally, I had called Stewart’s for information on the 130 screen when I was getting the new JVC projector. The vice president told me to get the 100 screen instead saying that the JVC would probably be too bright and it would give us a headache. Well I called them and finally got the 130 screen this week. The wow factor was back. It worked perfectly, the picture was bright and the colors were right. Stewarts did this all with one phone call from me and worked witjh my dealer. It took two weeks and, yes, I had to pay some more.

It’s important to mention that I probably got used to the very bright reflective screen of the Vue Tech which I had for 20 years.

Well, my friends were over and they went nuts over the picture and the Atmos sound. They knew nothing about Atmos and were just amazed. We say Ford Vs. Ferrari and they were enthralled.  In fact, no one went to the bathroom during the entire 2 ½ hours. At our age that’s a compliment.

PS: I now have a Stuart 100 screen if anyone is interested.  It is rolled up and in the proper container.

Excellent news Barry. And the StudioTek 130 G4 is a great screen. Glad you got that sorted out!
