I also have these same 2 movies in my to-watch queue for when my HT is complete. I've always had 16:9 screen in the past and it's the first time I'm getting a 2.40:1. Also in my queue: American Underdog, Ghostbusters: Afterlife, and Encanto (although this isn't Cinemascope).

You won't regret it. Great movie and the 4K presentation is outstanding (both audio and video).

Getting closer to the finish line.  Wood trim has been installed.  Second row seats have been installed.  First of three automatic door seals has been painted and installed.  Aligned the four subwoofers with REW yesterday and set levels in the processor.  Having friends over tonight to watch No Time to Die, the first 'public" viewing.  Planning to run Dirac soon.  That will leave building and upholstering the fabric panels and installing the other two door seals.  Then it's play time!

I've listened to quite a bit of music and will definitely enjoy that aspect of the theater.  And I've watched a few movies that have wowed as well.  The only 4K Atmos movie I've seen so far is Spiderman Homecoming.  Very impressive. I love the image from the JVC projector!

Awesome!! Theater looks great!! Like those doors . Speaking of Spider Man, I pre-ordered Spider Man: No Way Home. Release date is mid April, I believe. I'm hoping my HT will be done by then.

Not a ton of progress to report this weekend.  I spent most of the week getting familiar with REW and then Dirac and running scans.  The audio needs more tweaking, but work well on movies using a couple of manual tweaks to the Dirac equalization.  More scanning and tweaking in my future!

I plan to fit and paint the remaining two door seals today.  I played with placing the acoustic panels behind the front and rear speakers, but REW scans indicated absolutely no changes.  So I'm obviously doing something wrong with REW.  Need to dig deeper on that.  Finally decided to use GOM FR701 fabric in all my fabric panels and ordered it Thursday night.  It will arrive today.  I thought I preferred acoustically transparent stretch velvet for the panels surrounding the screen, but just couldn't get comfortable with the degree of wrinkles in the locally available materials and in my ability to remove them.  So plan to start building frames and upholstering the panels next week.

Found a problem with the fiber optic HDMI cable that was feeding the source from the processer to the projector.  It started dropping video regularly.  All the drops went away after substituting some cheap generic HDMI cables.  Mike G. shared the info on problem and troubleshooting with TechLogix and they will replace the cable.  

And in the process of setting up for the REW and Dirac scans I found that I have problems with my laptop PC. The HDMI audio stopped working and troubleshooting hasn't found the problem.   It's about 5 years old and has a broken hinge, so it's time to upgrade.  Did some web shopping yesterday and plan to make a decision and order one today.

With spring arriving tomorrow I want to get the construction phase of the theater wrapped up as the outdoors will be calling my name soon.
