Build dead vent, paint lights and speaker grilles, build riser and stage, perhaps a bit of added drywall in the furnace room.  Enough to keep me busy for awhile...

Also settling on room decor, including carpet.

And I should be receiving my projector next week.  Kris plans to start the calibration tomorrow.  Too bad it will be awhile before I can mount it and the screen and have the first WOW visual experience.

Hooked the lights up until it's time to paint.  What a difference!

Looks great. Are you using fabric panels?

Yes, but not everywhere.  For sure between the columns on each side wall with absorbers.  There will also be AT fabric only panels around the screen and on both sides of the rack in the rear.  And over the speakers in the columns.

COVID averted, my friend was back to work here yesterday applying the first coat of finish compound after taping the drywall.  Tomorrow he plans to apply the second coat and hopes to have it sanded and ready for paint by early next week.

I also worked with my neighbor (who does woodworking as a hobby) to build the four columns to cover the side surround speakers.  The are built, filled, sanded and will get first coat of primer tomorrow.  We'll install them after the room is primed.

Only the sides are MDF.  I didn't like the process of filling MDF end-grain, so we built them kind of like cabinets with the faces done in select pine.  A little more expensive, but not terribly, since MDF is so expensive now.  I tried to attach a photo to the previous post, but GoDaddy is censoring me again.  I can't figure out why I was able to post with a photo of the drywall finishing, but not the column.  I'll keep trying....

Still working on priming the columns.  We found that the primer takes a LONG time to dry to the point that it can be sanded.  First coat is on and sanding will probably begin tonight.

In other news, I think I've settled on the room decor.  A combination of dark green walls with medium green fabric panels and all black trim.  The ceiling will be flat black.  The carpet is a commercial grade with and commercial pad that can be glued and not stretched.  Being a Spartan alumnus, the green really satisfies my eye!

Also, my projector has still not arrived after calibration by Kris.  Seems to be stuck in the Chicago area for the last couple of days.  It was shipped from Washington a week ago Tuesday.  Hoping I don't get a ransom note from FedEx....
