JVC v3.50 firmware

First I super appreciate the help and if you see my attached screen shot I believe this is the correct placement of the files. Nothing else on any of the 4 and all the same message. What I believe is being lost in translation is the projector is NOT saying "The folder or file cannot be found", which would indicate it is at least acknowledging drive, but instead. the "The drive is not inserted or cannot be recognized". 

Bad thumb drive, and your projector doesn't like it.

I used a Lexar flashdrive (16GB). It's the same one I used previously on both Oppo updates and JVC.

What are the chances of having 3 bad thumb drives? A Lexar, Verbatim, and Western Digital? I would say, slim to none, and slim just left! It has to be a bad USB/Maintenance port on the projector, wouldn't you think?

They are not necessarily “bad”, but the projector is very picky. When I did my FW3.1 update I had to try quite a few thumb drives. The smaller ones work better.

Once you find one that works, make a note of it and put it aside.

Got it.  It finished all good.  

Have everything set for my CinemaScope and hdtv installation modes (aspect ratios).  Now I just need to update my Netflix, Netflix +, and Netflix ++ installation modes.  Note that I have a CinemaScope screen and so I have an installation mode for each of the 5 aspect ratios I encounter.  Then each installation mode is tied to a physical button on my harmony remote!  Extremely happy with my move from the RS500 to the RS2000 for the install functionality alone.  

@Craig - thanks for being a great sales person.  With the new bulb I just put in I will recalibrate gamma and color at some point.

Serious frustration is setting in. Purchased 4 more USB thumb drives today. Formatted all to FAT32. Nothing else on them. Duh. Move JUST the folder UD_B2A1 onto the drive (root). Insert it before the projector starts. Insert after it starts. Nothing. The same message of "The USB drive is not inserted or recognized". Let them sit for 20 minutes with projector running. Still the same. Literally been 3 hours not including purchasing new drives. There is NO WAY that there is not something wrong with the USB input on my projector unless I am completely missing something. What am I missing? This is a total of 9 drives, that have nothing on them, in a variety of capacities and brands, that my laptop recognizes as just having THE FOLDER UD_B2A1 on them my projector does not. Any other ideas besides buy more USB drives until I find one the projector happens to have an affinity for?

I have tried to do the firmware upgrade. However, under PICTURE MODE there is not FRAME ADAPT HDR to choose.
I tried to redo the firmware upgrade but the projector will not allow it.

If I do a factory reset, will this delete the firmware upgrade so that I can redo it?

I resolved the issue.

I'd check the other forum for anyone who is close to you that has a working USB with their JVC and see if you can either pick it up or have it mailed to you (1 day shipping if in the same state via USPS). Just a thought. That way it can be ruled out that it's your USB on your projector.
