Plot: You can find the plot elsewhere on the web. This is a similar type of spy thriller as “ Red Sparrow “, with a Russian woman down on her luck, that has to let herself be used by a spy agency to survive.


My Thoughts: Watched this the other night with a bunch of friends - they all loved it. In fact, several of them liked it a lot more than Red Sparrow or Atomic Blonde ( both of which we all really like ). Plus, another great Eric Serra soundtrack to crank up ! We thought it was a fun action flick. While it’s true that it didn’t receive good ratings at Rotten Tomatoes ( from the critics ), the audience rating is currently 81%. There are quite a few fun twists and turns in this. If you enjoyed Red Sparrow or Atomic Blonde, I’d say you will enjoy this too. Cillian Murphy and Helen Mirren are always good too. If you are a Luc Besson fan going back to La Femme Nikita like I am, you will probably enjoy this. 


Video 4.5 / 5 – the upscaled 4K HDR picture good very good. Excellent detail, good shadow detail, overall a solid looking disc.

Audio 4 / 5 – Good Dolby Atmos track, if not the hardest hitting bass / LFE. Great Eric Serra soundtrack – we love his music / movie scores. This doesn’t disappoint on that level. Surround channels get used a lot in action scenes, to good affect !




Conclusion: If you enjoyed Red Sparrow or Atomic Blonde and are a Luc Besson / Eric Serra fan, I’d say you will enjoy this too. Look for it on sale.

If you are a Luc Besson fan going back to La Femme Nikita like I am, you will probably enjoy this. 

I missed that bit when I saw a listing for this a few weeks ago. LFN was a huge hit for me and I've enjoyed a lot of other Besson films - he does love his kickass heroines. This just moved up a few notches on my wishlist. Thanks for mentioning that!

We liked it a lot more than you. Then again, I think we have different tastes in movies - I don't watch any cartoons like  Frozen, Toy Story, Spies in Disguise  etc. Fun action movies like this are my " cartoons ".

I watched Anna several weeks ago, rental. I liked the movie. I actually  liked it better than Atomic Blonde.
