Plot
Batman and Robin try to keep their relationship together even as they must stop Mr. Freeze and Poison Ivy from freezing Gotham City.
 
My Thoughts
Batman Forever while not a very good movie is at least watchable for the performances of the villains. Batman & Robin may very well be the worst big budget movie ever produced. It comes across as a two-hour toy commercial with laughably bad dialog, no character development, and a script that would get an “F” in any college screenwriters’ class—yes, it’s that bad.

Up and coming star George Clooney is now donning the cape but with Robin’s (Chris O’Donnell) increased screen presence, you’d hardly notice any change in the lead role. The previous three films redeeming qualities lied in the villains, but that isn’t the case here. Uma Thurman is Poison Ivy and Arnold Schwarzenegger is Mr. Freeze—neither of which are very interesting nor for that matter, entertaining. Throw in Alicia Silverstone as Batgirl and you end up with a bloated cast that tries to go too many directions and none of them right. Frankly, after this bomb of a movie I’m surprised anyone in the cast ever got work again in Hollywood. It goes to show, memories are short in show business.

Conclusion
This may be the most critical review I’ve ever written on a movie, but as much as I hated this film in 1997, it’s even worse today. Sure, it looks great on UHD Blu-ray, but unless you have an overwhelming need to complete the Batman set, I doubt this is a movie you’ll ever want to watch more than once. Yes, it looks and sound great, but crap is still crap, whether it’s in a pretty box or not. Skip it.

Hahaha ! That trailer makes it look like one of the cheesiest movies ever made ! I'll stick with the Nolan trilogy thanks !
