My copy arrived Friday. A blind buy and my very first 4K disc.
Now I just have to upgrade my disc player, receiver and video projector.
Its a start. :)

Holy Mother of God - that is one wild battle scene ! We just previewed the first battle scene after watching Arrival Sat. night  ( way too late for a double feature ) - this is a reference 4K disc for sure ! Can't wait to watch the entire movie this week !

Allied and Salt ( which I've never seen ) are here in 4K ! I'm up to 37 4K UHD Blu Ray titles now. Just waiting for a couple of others to come down in price and get released !

Now I'm waiting on " Passengers ", " Patriots Day ", " Hidden Figures " and " La La Land " in 4K. And that's about it until " Logan " comes out. Looks like a long wait for the summer blockbuster movies to get released on 4K.

HA!  Kinda sounds like my story....I've been buying stuff for about a year now, in prep for my soon to be built home theater addition.  I hope to be up and running in about a month and a half...I have left to buy a receiver and projector (2 or 2 channel amp if budget allows...)!

The 4K movies on UHD Blu Ray are stuck at 212 titles right now - they were at 211 for a couple of weeks. I guess I'll be patient - The 5th Element in July on 4K may herald a new round of titles - especially with all the great new movies coming out this year ( like the new Blade Runner ) !

Yeah, new 4k releases are coming at a lot slower rate than I (from my isolated, self-centered position) expcted.   Though frankly we're holding still trying to catch up with disc bought/received as far back as Christmas!  Partly that's the Game of Thrones deluge and, just recently, it's a hold due to a knee replacement (THAT had a bigger impact than anticipated, but pretty much getting back in the game after a week).  Get through all this and start renting picks from the 212 and go from there.  LOTS to pick from when I get going...

I picked up the BR of Fifth Element with Atmos when it went on big sale last year ($8.99).  One of my mainstreams.  In 4k, that will be a rental for me -- hard to imagine the UHD will blow away the upscaled BR.  But as you say, it may kick off a round of releases.  And we have yet to see what DV releases will provide us -- aside from potential equipment/connectivity issues that is.
Atmos/DTS:X Setup
Yamaha RX-A3060 w/ Elan Z-Fan; Config: 7.2.4 (switchable to 7.2.2 + Zone2)
Mirage Speakers: OM-6 (FLR), MC-si (C), OM-R2 (SLR), FRx-nine (BLR); ELAC A4s (FP), RSL C34Es (RP)
aci Titan subs (2) RP amp: AudioSource AMP100VS
OPPO 203;  LG OLED65B6; Harmony 650 and Hub

I specifically did not pick that up, since if I'm buying that movie again, it had better be re-mastered on a 4K UHD disc. Just 4 more months and we will see if they did a worthy job remastering it too. And I'm waiting for Leon too - same deal.

It's up to 220 titles on blu-ray.com !! I think by Black Friday this year, it will increase substantially in numbers of titles!

Now would be a good time to catch up on some of the older 4K titles.  Best Buy has a number of them at $14.99.

Suicide Squad
John Wick
Sicario
Oblivion
Lucy
Lone Survivor
Gods of Egypt
The Last Witch Hunter
Snow White and the Huntsman
Ender's Game
Now You See Me
The Bourne discs except for Jason Bourne
The Hunger Games discs except for Mockingjay Part 2
The Expendables
Divergent
Insurgent

Note that these discs show a shipping charge.   But after choosing store pickup, I was then able to change to free shipping during checkout.

The Expendables - maybe.
Divergent - not sure about this one. I might have enough YA movies, and HG is better.
Insurgent - ditto.

I enjoyed Gods of Egypt.   Mainly for its picture quality.   And because actress Courtney Eaton who played Zaya was also in Mad Max Fury Road as Cheedo the Fragile.   While her acting skills will hopefully improve, she is quite easy to watch.

Suicide Squad looks much better now that I don't have to use Gamma D on my RS500.

That's good to know, since everybody railed against how dark that film was !
