JVC DLA-RS1000/N5 & RS2000/NX7 Owners Thread

I would not mount the projector at the absolute closest to the inch throw. 17 - 18 feet is the better option.
Do you need a gray screen? Post a photo of your room.
Thank you for that recommendation. Will plan for a 18 feet distance mounting.

My basement is still under construction and expected to be completed by mid May. Please ignore the mess on the pictures. I am attaching few pictures here. I do have a morning room with windows to the right side of the screen, also that is 16 foot wide which is why I am moving my main seating to 16 feet. I am planning to apply window treatments to block the majority of light during the day.

I have a physical measurement question that I cannot seem to find anywhere.  What is the measurement from the outside of the feet in each direction?  I am in a rental and use a portable projection table.

I have my Vango sitting on it now but It is 10 years old and acting up again.  So it may be time.  Variable this year is does it stop acting up for a while or do we have to move.  Landlord issues and may be buying a house.  Not likely but possible.

On the bright side, my Vango still looks good on HD broadcast.  (when it works)

Will also need to replace my pre/pro as it does not pass 4K.  Again, this may be the year.

Got pretty good value out of the Vango.  Less than $85 per month, if it dies today, for something we use daily.  A bunch less than the cable bill.

I know I shouldn't have fully funded my 401K.  I could have been watching my new projector.  :)  I could have purchased the 4500 if I did not take advantage of the makeup provision.

Maybe someone with one that has one will chime in. This is the best I can do -

Thanks for those.  I can work with the Center to center measures.

I can't imagine the feet adding more than 1 1/2" total in each direction ( outside of foot to outside of foot ).

Hi everyone.
This is my first post on this forum and not for a good reason. Recently bought NX7, I like the image  overall but noticed some sort of light bar on the right side of the screen. I thought it could be related to screen or room reflections, but it moves along with image while I'm shifting it right or left. Most visible on the dark screen but also during the movies. Did anyone had such a problem before or basically any ideas what it could possibly be?
Thanks for your answers guys.

Can you show a picture with the shift grid pattern showing? Also what size and gain is your screen? What lamp power and iris setting are you using?

Well really I don't know for that projector. What I will say is that it looks just like my RS15U (now 10-years old) which posts on the internet indicate that one of my filters has "slid" off center ... which causes coloration in the image down one edge. Just like your picture. Good luck ... if no one has a better suggestion, I'd try for a warranty repair asap.

I got suddenly got color banding tonight.  Restarting the projector made it go away.  Hoping this is not a sign of bad things to come.  In the last couple of years I had to coax the Vango.  I am hoping that I don't have to constantly worry about this projector.

I know warranty and all but I just want to catch a break and have things work from the get go.

I guess time will tell but it did pretty much ruin my relaxation this evening.

hoping for the best.

Maybe it was an HDMI sync gremlin. Hard to say.

I am hoping that is all it is but, time will tell.

HDMI or more correctly the HDCP2.x part of it has had and continues to have issues even though the pro crooks can get around it.

If only we could just use straight HDMI without that false sense of security processing.

Hey there everyone

Guess I have not posted in soooo long that the AVSForum is different and my old UN is erased.  I used to be pretty active but life, business, family and all.  So here I am with Post #1......

Anyhow, I'm receiving an RS2000 B-stock today from AVS to replace my 15 yr old Marantz 11s2.  Guess I got my money out of that one.  Still love it but lamps are impossible to find with a female connection (rare oddity in mine).  I'll start digging into the 43 pages on this thread and the rest of the forum for set up hints but if you have any specific posts you think are the most important/accurate/concise, etc, on set up, it would be great if a few links were shared here.

Cheers,
Randy

Anyone here have an Xbox Series X and one of these JVC projectors?

If so, I'm curious what the recommended configuration settings are on the Xbox and the Projector (I have an RS1000).   e.g. I believe 8-bit color space on the Xbox actually pushes 4:4:4, and I believe 10 and 12 bit do not, but I'm not quite sure how to verify that.   Recommendations appreciated.
