I'm an Alex Garland fan, so I was really looking forward to this 4K Blu-ray coming out. Had a packed theater last night to watch it. I liked it, it's an interesting film. I think it needs a repeat viewing.

The movie is somewhat dark and muted a lot of the time, no doubt on purpose, since one of the themes is self - destruction. But, this 4K disc is often sharp and detailed - especially during brighter scenes in " The Shimmer ". There are times it looked soft focus and a bit hazy, which I'm guessing is on purpose - like you are in a dream ( I never saw it in the theater, so I'm guessing that's the case ).

There are some good dynamics at times on the soundtrack - most especially the end of the movie. If you like strange Sci fi and Alex Garland's other movies, you might like this !  It is a weird one !

Watched this again last night with some friends. One person nearly jumped out of their seat more than once ( the bear scenes ) ! I think I liked it more the 2nd time around.
