SVS Wireless Audio Adapter
« on: May 02, 2018, 01:58:21 PM »
For lack of a better place to put it (a thread for this Subject) and not finding any other posts after a Search, I'll try here.

I received the AVS email on this device(s) and would sure like a little more and clearer information.  This was delivered as an alternate means to connect/operate a subwoofer, but it contains wording that says it is full-range and suggest it might (?) be used with other (full-range) speakers.  Is that true?  And apparently each device is a "pair" that transmits from AVR output to a sub (speaker?) input.  Correct?

So would this support a full-surround setup (11.1 or more)?  Assumed cost for such would be about $1000 for the required pairs.  Would it require (I assume) a device pair for each speaker?  Is it possible to run more than one within a setup (various frequencies required?).  For the sub, would it support more than one sub (7.2.4 for example)?  I could ask more, but I think you get the drift.  Any additional info would be appreciated or (perhaps) disallude me completely from this.

The transmitter and receiver have line level inputs and outputs, not speaker.   It will only work with powered subs or powered speakers.

From the email:

Simply connect the transmitter to an AV receiver, TV or other audio source via RCA interconnect; connect the receiver to a subwoofer, powered speaker or amplifier;

Or you would have to place an amp at every speaker or pair of speakers. Or install a plate amp into your speakers. Running a speaker wire would still be the better option, if possible.

Ah -- thanks.  I must have skipped over that bold.

Got it.  My wired system is already setup though adding a bigger sub is not out of the question.  It doesn't appear though that this SVS adapter would manage multiple subs.  My questions were simply stimulated by "academic interest".   ;D
