Agreed.  Makes me a tiny bit nervous as Robert Harris said on another forum:

"Any harvesting of elements would not be performed by MPI, and per the query directly above, the original elements of 2001 are a well-loved mess, with heavy use, damage, and dupes.

If work were to be performed, it would be an extremely expensive proposition."

However, Warner did a great job on some of their classic movies such as Casablanca, Wizard of Oz, Gone with the Wind, etc.

Ideally an 8K scan since this was a 65mm movie.

I'd buy 4k versions of Casablanca, Wizard of Oz, Gone with the Wind, and other classics.
