I'm glad to see all these positive comments about BR2049 because, frankly, I was disappointed after having seen all the great reviews.  Yes, no question the video and audio quality are superb -- I would sure hope so given it's predecessor.  But after having seen the original twice recently in the UHD version with all ITS audio and video improvements, that just wasn't enough to persuade me in 2049 (but what fantastic LFE!).  The movie I thought ok, the setting 30 years later well established, but the story just didn't grab me.  I tried to watch again a few days later (hoping for the feeling ya'll talk about) but was just too tired and couldn't stay interested.

But I'll get back to it and hope to see what you guys see.  Meantime, Blade Runner original is still the champ!

Now THAT is a time commitment!

I'm looking forward to my copy arriving this week ( I waited and did get a deal on it ). At 2 hours 43 minutes, I guess a double feature with the original BR might be a bit much. Might need 2 consecutive nights instead.

But as you say...

I did but on 2 consecutive nights. Otherwise it would have been longer than the John Wick 1 & 2 double feature !

They are getting really good at doing this ( like in Star Wars - The Force Awakens etc. ).

There was an article a few years back about this, and it was said that in the future they could continue to make movies after an actor dies too.

This is interesting -

" Blade Runner 2049 on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray hits an average *video* bitrate of 60 Mbps with peaks of 120 Mbps. Credit to Geoff D for the graphic. "

I need to watch this movie a second time.  The first time it just didn't connect with me although I liked aspects of it.  I am huge fan of the first movie.

I've watched it twice now. You might watch the original again, and then the new one the next day. I did that with a bunch of folks and they loved it !!

Maybe I'll try that as I haven't had a chance to watch the first movie on my RS440 yet.
