Very nice. Glad to hear you were able to get your room dark enough for the WAF. :)

What works well for black drapery for your walls?

Years ago, I bought and hung black drapes in my theater. They were pretty thin material and I have never really liked them but it was the only local option.
Don't buy the local option then. My red velvet drapes came from https://www.halfpricedrapes.com/

T
he super flat black paint came from https://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=&sku=381780&gclid=CLSRnZCKwNECFROUfgodEjsEyg&is=REG&ap=y&m=Y&c3api=1876%2C92051678402%2C&Q=&A=details

I painted the walls black, re-painted the gray ceiling and side walls a darker Sherwin Williams " Garrett Gray ", and got some friends to help carry and install the giant piece of black carpeting, when my wife was out of town, over 3 or 4 different times. There was no WAF. Only asking forgiveness by cooking her favorite steak and watching The Notebook with her. Again. ::)

Protostar material can be found here - http://www.protostar.biz/hitack.htm

What do you use the Protostar for?

I use it on my electric screen case, center channel speaker and other places, to black out items in my theater. It works very well. I put it on shiny objects. The self adhesive is handy too.

Can't push my luck - there are 4 subwoofers in the theater she doesn't even know about !

Just went all black on the ceiling. Big improvement in picture quality.

You wanted to cover some ground with that roller. What width is that roller?

I'm transforming an unfinished part of my basement into a Home Theater. I'm trying to decide what to put in the front wall: black paint, or velvet, or maybe even this Protostar "Hi-tack flocked light trap material". The Protostar material was designed to be used with telescopes to prevent light reflections, so it sounds like pretty good material to use around projector screens?

The Protostar material looks like it has an adhesive, so it sounds like it would be easy to apply. Can it be applied directly to dry-wall (and does it come off easily without damaging the drywall if for some reason it needs to be removed in the future)?

Are use a flat black paint and it works very well. It also makes the room feel like a theatre. And if we go to this side I guess the paint I have to use is Dark Vader!
