Spider-Man: Brand New DayFirst off, I rate this movie as a very good one and one that I thoroughly enjoyed. I saw it at Adobe theater and the picture was incredibly sharp and colorful. If you remember the movie, “The Walk” were they showed a man walking between the two World Trade Center towers, well there are scenes here that are similar. You almost lose your balance watching them.. I thought I had seen every incarnation of Spider-Man activity, but they really had great scenes here. I’ve never seen them before and they were beautifully done although we know they’re impossible.Tom Holland has grown in this role. He no longer seems to be the young teenager, but a mature adult. At the same is true for the rest of the cast. Holland and Zendaya have really matured as actors since the last movie and it shows here.The movie begins where the last movie ended. Due to the magic spells of Doctor Strange the world, and especially the city of New York, knows Spider-Man and sees him as a hero. But everyone else has forgotten Peter Parker, and he must establish himself. And that means realigning himself with his girlfriend MJ.But Peter is going through a metamorphosis and he seeks the help of Dr. Bruce Banner, who is also the Incredible Hulk. So we know there will have to be a clash of some sort between them.But the real plot involves a mysterious woman, a new version of someone we have seen before, and how Peter copes with that. I can’t tell you anymore in a non-spoiler review.At the end of the credits. There’s a one minute add-on.But if you like the Marvel universe and superhero movies. This is the first really good one in quite a while.
Saw it this afternoon. Loved it! I needed a good, fun experience from this movie and it delivered. I've nitpicked a few things in some of the recent very good blockbusters like Project Hail Mary and The Odyssey, but that wasn't the case with S:BND. I've seen most of The Punisher on Disney+ (all of the TV series, but only a few minutes of the wrap up movie, which I found quickly devolved into a completely uninteresting and disgusting murder fest) - the interactions between Spidey and Punisher were really good. I teared up at a couple of the emotional scenes between Peter & MJ. The visual sequences of web-slinging through NYC were AWESOME. The thematic element was done well, different characters and interactions developing, enforcing and amplifying it without getting distracted in other directions. Minor spoiler alert...I saw that Rosario Dawson's "Claire" cameo was cut from the final edit, which is too bad as she stitches together (both literally and metaphorically) multiple TV shows in all of the MCU "Defenders" TV shows. She got a mention I think, but nothing on screen. I would love to see that scene included in the 4K release.
David,if we think about it, they get even more than that. They get all the money for all the Spider-Man toys, T-shirts, Comics, and so on. what I do not know is when it comes to streaming how much is that worth. Does putting the Spider-Man movie on Disney+, after it’s on Netflix, attract new viewers and subscribers. Disney has cartoons of Spider-Man do they get greater viewership when the movies like this come out.
