I'm looking forward to this one.  The word of mouth is that it's either the greatest horror movie in the past few years, or just OK - quite a range of general opinions.  Eggers' works are always interesting, even if they've left me cold at times.

Kudos to Universal for including the Atmos mix on both the 4K and standard Blu-ray discs!

I reviewed this for us a little while ago

Yes, I had considered you to be closer to the OK side of things than the best horror movie this century crowd.

Although I haven't seen the movie yet, what you wrote about the story and especially Eggers' use of color and visuals fit with his other movies as well.

To whet appetites for this movie, Universal has posted a generous number of the bonus features mentioned in the press release.  There are minor spoilers included, but they do offer a glimpse of the look, feel, and sound of the film.

The making of segments really show the amazing amount of work that went into the production.  Now I'm even more hopped up to see it.

And in a premature post for this board, this was just announced today:

Robert Eggers Reteaming With Focus Features For 'Werwulf', Sets Christmas 2026 Release

Could he be planning on hitting all of the classic movie monsters?

And, in a follow up to the prior post, Eggers has also been announced as the director and co-writer of a sequel to the classic 80s movie, Labyrinth.

Robert Eggers Set For 'Labyrinth' Sequel At Sony

I have to admit this one has me a bit puzzled.  While Eggers has a vivid imagination, none of his films suggest he's either interested in, or capable of, making something aimed at a general audience.  Producers Chris and Eleanor Columbus and Lisa and Brian Henson give me some hope that the film will follow the tone and sensibilities of the original.
