JVC DLA-X750R Projector / lamp lights up, but does not project
« on: January 08, 2025, 10:52:21 PM »
Hi, a newbie question here, - I hope this is the right forum to post it. I bought a used JVC DLA-X750R Projector about 6 months ago. At first it worked great, but lately it started acting up. When I turn it on, it would occasionally fail to project. When this happens, the lamp lights up, - I can see that it's lit, but there is no image, not even the initial "D-ILA" screen, there are no warning lights on the projector. To fix the problem, I have to turn the projector off, wait for it to cool down and turn it back on. Usually this helps, but recently I had to repeat this twice. Could anybody please give me some advice? Is it a problem with the lamp? Does the projector need to be reset to factory specs? Any advice would much appreciated. Thanks, Mike

How many hours are on that lamp?

It says 1046 hours on the lamp. Of course, there is no way to know for sure, because I bought it used. The lamp should be good for about 4000 hours.

Today it gave me a different type of signal, - blinking orange in the middle and simultaneously blinking red (on the right-hand side). The manual says it's "abnormal circuit operation". After a while, I was able to turn back on, and the lamp was lit, but not projecting. I turned the projector off and on again, and it worked.

I will try a factory reset..
