We just received our review unit. It is an NZ900, rather than an RS4200. First thing I noticed is JVC has changed how they package the projectors. Nice design change here. While the internal packaging foam protection is smaller volume, the corners are better protected, compared to the packaging in the RS4100/NZ9 box. Small change, but nice engineering change to save some material, while improving protection.

I'm not sure I believe you, so can you forward me the projector and packaging so I can inspect it first hand? I'll pay for the shipping costs both ways, but I foresee an issue already shipping it back and it may be delayed by a few years. Pay no attention to the number of hours on the laser when you do finally get it back

Looking forward to the review, Mike. Although I shouldn't, as when I got my RS2100 I sold my wife on it being a 10 year projector... I actually do intend to stick to that if at all possible.

Well, I will say the image is sharper with noticeably better motion. We love the new Vivid mode. Perfect for sports! Football will definitely benefit. Checking out the Mav’s Luka’s great shot for the win last night looked terrific. We watched Civil War last night and tonight were doing Fall Guy. I’m working on my write-up as I type this. Oh and before I forget it is definitely way, way quieter than the 4100 I just had here. So is it a little better or way better than the 4100? I would say in between those. The NZ900 I have here is a great sample. More to come soon.

I found it interesting that the price has stayed the same over 3 years until I realized that the dollar has appreciated about 42% against the yen. That means using the yen as the currency standard that the new projectors have had a 42% price increase . I love it when they use the line "the price hasn't gone up in 3 years!!".

Not really sure what that has to do with anything. All these companies are global companies. Has labor or materials used to build electronics gone down in price since Covid started? No. Shipping costs? No.  Especially in the US and Europe.
