Yawn
it's only going to get worse due to the writers strike. Maybe the major studios will go on a catalog 4K release binge, but I'm not holding my breath.

Yeah I know. Was just telling my wife about this. Ugh. Feels like forever since I’ve been down in my theater.

To fill the void, we just watched Seal Team on Paramount+ over the past couple of months. We really enjoyed it a lot. Also finished up The Crown. I think we're going to watch The Diplomat next, and then cancel Netflix for a while and sing up for Apple TV. They seem to have a lot of content that I haven't seen yet outside of the first season of For All Mankind

We've really enjoyed Seal Team over the years. If you like that go back and watch The Unit if you haven't. Not as many seasons but really strong military show with more of the "intelligence" element and a bit less of the "family life".

Apple TV has some strong shows. I feel like they've got a bit less of a "throw as many darts as we can" approach than NetFlix & Amazon took, with a little higher average level of quality. And a lot of SF shows. I've been leery of Foundation b/c the books were a big favorite as a kid (and admittedly are completely un-filmable in original form) but I keep hearing good things overall. Silo was quite good.

Thanks Paul. Speaking of SF, have you watched The Expanse? We absolutely loved it. In fact, I ended up getting the Blu-ray set for Christmas.

Oh yeah, I was a big fan of The Expanse for the most part. First 3 seasons were great. Later seasons had some issues but still a lot of great content. The books are done and jump 30 years from 6 to 7 so there was a natural end point. There have been hints that they plan to do something well before that long passes, thankfully!

Really? I've been rewatching classics. I had a " Western and Whisky Week, and watched Django ( 4K ), A Fist Full Of Dollars ( 4K ),  For A Few Dollars More ( 4K), and The Good, Bad and Ugly ( 4K ).

Re-watched Gran Turismo Saturday night with 4 friends that had never seen it - they loved it ( and said to tell them if we screen it again ). With 850+ movies I always have something to watch - new favorites, old favorites, I even have a few I've never watched yet.

Same here. The Blu-rays looked much better than streaming the seasons that weren't on disc on Amazon Prime did. Now I have the entire set!

We loved Seal Team when we could DVR it. When they moved it behind a paywall we stopped watching it. A shame.

I can't either. Plus, no time. Series are very time consuming. Going to be spending more time in our new camper van,  so the theater will be reserved for movies when we have time and are home. I'm not going to the mountains to watch TV.

I totally agree with you guys about Seal Team. It's been a great series so far but it seems to be coming to an end.

Most everyone is getting their personal lives together. So, it's either the end of the show or a major character is about to die or go off the deep end.

With the writer's and actor's strikes going on, we have been watching a lot of Amazon Prime programming. Reacher and The Wheel of Time have been good series so far. I don't miss most of what we used to watch on "regular TV".

Season 7 will be the final season of the show. We'll miss the characters. I was shocked to learn that the guy who plays Jason Hayes is the same age as me (he's actually about 2 weeks older). I wish I was in as good as shape as he is!
