JVC RS520 help

JVC RS520 help
« on: February 14, 2021, 09:13:58 PM »
My 4yr old 520 has a flashing orange (single flash not multiple) light in between two solid red lights. The bulb does not come on. This started tonight on startup.  Could this be the bulb? Ive also seen some mention online of a ballast.
Thoughts appreciated. I'll  call AVS tomorrow to see what they say--just wondering ifanyone has insight.
Thanks in advance.
Anthony

What would things look like if the lamp has failed? Any idea what the warning pattern might be?
I know it goes solid orange when the lamp needs replacement but does that mean its out or just a measure of hours on the lamp?
Thanks

Doubtful they would tell you to send it in if it was just the lamp.

A little update.

I took out the lamp-it looked fine for what its worth. Certainly seemed to be seated correctly and firmly in there. Put it back in and fired it up (I had gotten the flashing lights on 5 consecutive attempts at start up over 24 hours). Sure enough it started right up. The next night (last night), I had the kids watch a movie--no issues yet. Doesnt make any sense to me.

At least it's working. Find some wood and knock on it!
