I didn’t know cats were required for home theatre. Fortunately, I have enough for stereo. It’s having them on the ceiling for Atmos that’s a dilemma. Of course, having cats, I started the system from scratch.
McIntosh MX170 Controller: Projector JVC DLA-RS4100; Screen: Stuart StudioTek130: Amps: McIntosh MC-611(center),MC1.25KW (lf&rt);  Krell S-1500 Atmos/Surround; 4kDVD Panasonic UB9000P1K; Speakers: Revel Ultima Salon 2, Ultima Voice 2, (Surround) W 990, Atmos C763L; Subs: SVS SB-13 Ultras;  Cable: 4K Verizon; Broadcast: Mediasonic HW-150PVR; Wiring: Shunyata; Apple TV,

So is there a minimum requirement of one cat per channel?

Man, I'm in trouble. The only cat that I have is an orange and white, neighborhood tabby and I have 8 channels.

Haha... I'm allergic to cats, but fortunately nothing in HT except really bad movies, and Adam Sandler. ;D

yeah , cats

oh , what else professional in the professional lucasfilm ltd THX sound system to no day

i saw " earthquake " at abc 1 bournemouth , uk 70mm six-track sensurround 4 times feb 1975 and several more over the many months it played , opened , uk nov 1974 . first heard it during intermission of " the towering inferno " heard this distant rumble from above looking overhead at the ceiling , what is that ? oh , i saw poster outside for screen 1 , " earthquake " and large words sensurround ? wow , i have to check this out .

79p for big sound sort of like THX only professional THX sound system is way better sort of extension or raising the bar with THX . sensurround easily better than most substandard Dolby atmos cinemas today at £16 local to £50 at london and no THX at odeon leicester square .
its technically difficult to recreate it at home in small room with smaller speakers of today . the CV cerwin vega sub bass bins was very large they had to be built inside the auditorium as they wouldn't fit though exit door like some cinema pa speakers today .
attempts have been achieved with JBL professional and lots of JBL subs , lots of them ! screenings have been done at , cinerama 70 bradford uk , and often at germany where lots of JBL subs have been used , i mean lots !
the sensurround generator mod II and mod III are often used some remade from plans , many do still rarely exist , Dolby labs has one and many private . building one is tricky as , cinerama brandford found it the chips got so hot and other ways was figured out .

when thinking about it sounds like filtered pink noise that has forward backward motion that , is so alarming scary when " the big one " hits , cinema patron on the chest the body , harder than most regular atmos cinemas today . the only other hardest is Dolby and JBL and THX together , not even imax comes near . i feel little with all the imax 70mm i seen once bournemouth and it was meh given the high ticket prices and earthquake was 79p . today cinemas have greedy ticket prices and sound that is just too loud in MF/HF horns i have to wear earplugs for whole time .

if " earthquake " was remixed it would have to have discrete channels of at least
behind projection screen
five upper L Lc C Rc R
five middle L Lc C Rc R
five below L Lc C Rc R

sidewalls
surround upper arrays left/right
surround middle arrays left/right
surround below arrays left/right

back wall
surround upper arrays left/right
surround middle arrays left/right
surround below arrays left/right

below surround arrays
near corners to the sidewall/back wall of arrays
most of the whole floor arrays
special bass shakers in the flooring

now there is no way it can do the same thing . seismic earthquakes happen miles underneath the ground ranging from 0.01Hz to 10Hz and can conflict depending magnitude and time duration , unimaginable damage . kinder like ocean waves rock boat , same thing . can't do that to floors they'll get damaged .
and lastly overhead arrays

what i see in the movie with objects falling from ceiling and landing on the floor as certain sounds should be heard from above then silence on that sound for fraction few second until it lands on the floor and sounds ! there would be a wave of air if large piace of ceiling came down it would push air downwards and you'd fill a wave of air .
sound mixing is complex if it had proper amount of channels for mixing encoding decoding at cinemas or home cinema with the same thing , no near field mixes ! theatrical mixes only !

i think i can add ^ the above to this THX cinema

stormaudio elite mkIII 32 , i can get these modified for possible 88 channels

+4dB output cinematic on the JBL THX sound system

JBL 4673A five screen wide L Lc C Rc R discrete for " gravity " is still a mix that has yet to be surpassed

five screen matrix is handled very well compared with x2 Dolby SDU4 i also use . was surprised at how exceptional well stormaudio with dts neural x , i select for five screen matrix , fills in the inner channels with extra screen bass .

i have to see if it can do baby boom for star wars ? thou i can easily do that with multi behringer DCX 2496 by simply switching Lc Rc with LFE.1 signals in just few seconds , i can have star wars in proper Dolby Stereo 4.2.4 or use the '97 AC-3 laserdisc and divert LFE to Lc Rc , just for experimental use or switch to any of the other JBL subs

tested , ice station zebra , five screen wide , wow

i have my experimental overhead surround rewired back up this week ? as when installing the stromaudio elite mkIII 32 , i spent non-stop 24hrs installing it and it totally knackered me , in bed for 2 days , its a complex processor
