I have some VHS in boxes in the garage of "classic" movies that I now have on DVD, Blu-ray, and soon to be 4K :)

You can still buy 8-track tapes!  https://www.amazon.com/s?k=8-track+tapes&crid=7ROX7EIER7G7&sprefix=8-track%2Caps%2C223&ref=nb_sb_ss_i_5_7

I might be able to buy 8 tracks and VHS, I just would not be able to play them. Been a really long time since I had an 8 track. :)

Who still has an 8 track tape player - that doesn't automatically eat the 8 track tapes ? ::)

Some of the "B List" movies of that era have been reissued in new VHS-like packaging. I remember even seeing Stranger Things in a VHS type package.

As for 8-Tracks, they are somewhat collectible. I've seen several 8-Track groups on Facebook.

Even blank CrO2 and Metal cassette tapes are selling for a surprising amount of money.

Haha... I held on to a JVC S-VHS player for several years after that format had been superseded a couple of times. Still have a few tapes of TV shows & games of my favorite team sitting around but did finally take the player to the electronics recycling center.

My wife calls me a hoarder - but would a real hoarder have done the above on his own? I think not! ;D

Actually, I have a good / barely used JVC S - VHS recorder / player still.
