Krell 707 with new 4K adaptor
« on: January 13, 2020, 06:52:29 PM »
Almost a year ago I was thinking of replacing my incredible Krell 707. It did not do 4k and I was having other problems with it. It was brought back to the shop and it’s Okay now. I did not know, now I do, that the external phono preamp, 15 years old, needed work too.

It is still an incredible machine with a great “two channel preamp.”  But it will never have Dolby Atmos.

Well, I just got it back, at 6:30 PM, with a NEW 4K external adaptor and switcher to be attached to my JVC 3000.  I need two people to help set it up so it won’t be up until Thursday.

Here is the manual that comes with it. You can see that this was made for their Foundation pre-amp and then modified for the 707.  It only took 4 years.

McIntosh MX170 Controller: Projector JVC DLA-RS4100; Screen: Stuart StudioTek130: Amps: McIntosh MC-611(center),MC1.25KW (lf&rt);  Krell S-1500 Atmos/Surround; 4kDVD Panasonic UB9000; Speakers: Revel Ultima Salon 2, Ultima Voice 2, (Surround) W 990, Atmos C763L; Subs: SVS SB-13 Ultras;  Cable: 4K Verizon; Broadcast: Mediasonic HW-150PVR; Wiring: Shunyata; Apple TV,

It's a great piece and has the best-looking knob in the AV world. ::)

Good to hear that Krell is willing to adapt it to 4K.
