Interesting. It remains to be seen how this is actually implemented, and how well it works.

Yes.  Also related, in the other forum, JD posted that Denon/Marantz plan to add a firmware update to (at least some of) their 2016 line to enable DV and HLG.  Right now, only OPPO offers a DV option (coming soon in others) that could take advantage of it (along with streamed DV). 

I (we) can hope that Yamaha follows up or already has something similar (yet unannounced).  Maybe better would be for Dolby to announce that they are working with receiver manufacturers to retrofit DV to existing AVRs.
