While the current user manual does not show the option, there will be an additional option in the HDR menu to strip metadata and output BT.2020:

HDR [ Auto | On | Off | Strip Metadata ]

Whether that option is still Beta or in the production firmware release will wait to be seen.
Did they improve their graphic Menu for their streaming?

What streaming ?

" Does the UDP-203 have any built-in streaming services such as Netflix or VUDU?   The UDP-203 is designed with a purist approach for disc and file playback, and it does not have any built-in video or music streaming apps. "

I am talking about streaming from my network...ie streaming flacs, and mkv files, or did they eliminate that feature?

Several of us are waiting. At least others will go through the teething pains for us. :)

Even though I had the opportunity (i.e., got the mail yesterday) to do the pre-order from Oppo, I decided to wait a little and give my business to the AV Science store.  I'm not in the situation of "must have it now" for the UDP-203 as I already have the Samsung K8500 and I'm going to be out of town over the holidays.  So now I looking forward to Jan. 2017 to get a UDP-203 into my HT system and driving my JVC RS600.

Never owned an Oppo as I've always thought of them as reference quality disc based players and I like to rip my media and store on my UnRAID server for ease of playback. With 4K now though and the inability (for the time being anyway) to rip discs, I could see myself moving in this direction once I upgrade my projector.  Just curious for those of you previous owners that may also stream media how playback of mkv's is with Oppo players (in particular 1:1 rips with HD audio like Atmos or DTS:X)? I just upgraded my media streamer in the hopes of eliminating some audio dropouts with Atmos content.

We appreciate that. And, I'm thinking that not getting one of the very first units gives Oppo time to fix some software problems that have already been reported. I already went through the initial " teething pains " with the Samsung. I'd prefer they fix bugs before I get the new 203. Sometimes it pays to wait just a little bit.

Apparently some Retail Dealers in Australia already have their 203s and are shipping them out today. Is this normal to supply Dealers out of the USA with units before the USA Dealers?

Who knows. I'm fine to wait - let them work out the software bugs.

Got my e-mail invite from Oppo yesterday, ordered, and will have it secured!  However, I shouldn't have to worry about as much teething pain, as it'll be like so much other equipment (boxed up in storage for my new room, to be opened around March)!!!
