The i1Diags being successfull means the driver is correctly installed, that's all that is required, BUT for autocal to detect it, it has to be plugged in and sitting on its calibration white tile support (white tile uncovered of course) BEFORE starting autocal.

I think that, because the hardware not change, any new firmware create a new factory settings. Upgrade means to change the software, the data base and correct te bugs, otherwise don't have sense. Example, in one of the upgrading it was been inserted the option Panasonic table, means that, the .init file create after the upgrading, at the first new calibration, contain the factory data for Panasonic also, and if it is imported the old .init file (done before the upgrading) this don't have factory data for Panasonic. So I think that any firmware upgrading change the old factory default values and create a new factory status. In any case I can state that in my case when I have installed the firmware 3.10 a new .init file has been created.
There are no “subsequent INIT files”. If Autocal thinks it’s doing the first calibration (due to new computer, new folder, etc) it will create the INIT file. We had the discussion 7 months ago on the other forum.
Yes true ... but it was also said then that when it does not find the original init file on your computer it creates a new "init" file, how does it call that new file then ?This new file is what I meant by subsequent INIT fileEDIT: Removed that sentence as JVC says that the original INIT cannot be re-created and should be saved. So question what are thos "init" files re-created then ?
What I meant by “there are no subsequent INIT files”, is that the software creates only one “kind” of INIT file; i.e. the software doesn’t treat the “new” INIT file any differently than the first, since the it doesn’t even know it’s not the first. If you did not save the original INIT file its contents cannot be re-created; the “new” INIT file contains the calibration data in the projector prior to that session of autocal, but that data does not represent the factory calibration. In all cases the file name is SN-Init-YYYY-MMDD-hmm.cbd.
Well that's about what has always been said, including me, and that is specifically warned by JVC : the real init file cannot be re-created and should be saved.But then why does autocal re-created a file named init if it is not an init file ? Bug ?
It you run Autocal using one computer and then run it on a different computer, you will get an INIT file on both computers. However, the actual contents of the two INIT files will be different. It’s the way Autocal works; I don’t consider that a “bug”.
Dominic, that's where we do not agree, for me the init file is relative to the projector, not the computer on which you run the program, that means there can only be one true init file pertaining to one projector.If you sell the projector and the new owner runs autocal he will get a new init file maybe not even knowing that this new one is not "genuine".I call this a bug, the projector should have a way ( a flag ? ) to remember that an autocal of it has been run already. A simple fix would be to name any such file "global" instead of "init".
