Is it possible to backup your settings onto a thumb drive to upload onto another unit?

Not really. Too many variables, especially with the custom gamma curves being made specifically for your screen size and light out put.

I'm more impressed now with Blu-rays. Watched " Drive " again with a friend that wanted to see it, and the clarity and detail looked outstanding. The night scene at the beach even looked better, with amazing shadow detail. Chad B. put some secret sauce in this thing.

That's a cool movie.   I love the 80's vibe and the cars.  Sounds like the 4500 does an awesome job making the Blu-rays closer to UHD.

Blu-ray's like " Drive " leave little to be desired picture wise on my RS4500 / UB900 combo.

Lol!  No my projector is being replaced so I’m curious to know if I can backup my settings on my current rs4500 onto the replacement unit?

Oh that's right - I forgot. Did you get the calibration info on a thumb drive ? If so I think you can to some extent.

Yes haven’t had it calibrated just wondering if I can pop all of my picture settings onto the new one from a thumb drive.

Some, but it's more like a list of settings. You have to enter them into the menus yourself.

Ok so you can basically upload a copy of your settings to manually enter?

If your calibrator gives the settings to you ( mine have in the past ), yes !

I love Prometheus, and it and Alien : Covenant are both great. In fact now I have to re - watch them both with the custom HDR gamma curves. Lucy is a total hoot - love it too. Super HDR eye candy and a fun movie. Don't have the other two.

I've watched 26 so far, some (like Prometheus) multiple times.

I have another 43 that I've 'checked-out' or sampled (but not fully watched).

And I have 148 unopened. :)
