JVC RS4500 (native 4K laser projector)

Lumagen 4446 is locked and loaded in the rack and Craig Rounds is in route w/ the DCR lens and calibration equipment.  Should be a fun 2 days.  Can't wait to see the end results!

If you are short screws, you should install in the bottom holes, that way you are not bending the ears on the Lumagen, because the top two will be pushing into the rack frame. Where as the bottom two are trying to pull away from the rack frame.

Your RS4500 is going to seem like a new projector - scope films especially. Between the added brightness from the lens and dynamic tone mapping, 4K will look a lot better! Prepare to be wowed !

I'm expecting my RS4500 to improve yet again picture wise after Kris Deering gets done calibrating it Thursday !

What day is your calibration ?

Craig finished up yesterday.  He spent a total of 22 hours at home the last two days and the end results are fantastic.  He calibrated an SDR setting an HDR setting using mid-laser and the HDR color profile then a 2nd HDR setting using High laser and the Rec2020 color profile w/ the filter.   We both agreed that the setting using high laser and the rec2020 filter looked amazing!  The colors are as natural as I have ever seen before.

Craig is phenomenal- he installed my paladin DCR first then went to town on calibrating the projector then within the Lumagen.  I'd also like to thank Kris Deering for his assistance with getting Craig a beta firmware from Lumagen that he was testing and felt like was an improvement on the current release.  We installed it and dialed in the tone mapping even more!

I highly recommend Craig if you own  Lumagen as he and Kris have unparalleled knowledge and expertise with it.  Now it's time to rewatch my entire collection!

That is my next film to view as well!  I am so happy with the results of the Lumagen/DCR lens.  The added depth to the image is just amazing!  Very impressed at how the Lumagen handled the scene in Mad Max Fury Road where they drive into the dust storm.  Even my wife noticed a distinct improvement in the image our RS4500 now throws.

I had guests over last night for dinner that watched Alita on my RS4500 last Friday, and they are still talking about how amazing the picture was ( the CGI is stunning ). I have a bunch of movies to watch this week. Isn't it cool when a projector actually keeps improving ? I feel like I've gotten a new and improved RS4500 four times over the last 30 months !

I had a few friends over last month to watch Shazam. Pretty good movie. Image quality was excellent too! I'm sure Kris did a great job setting the projector up.

The beginning of Shazam is very dark, but it looks great on my projector. I haven't re-watched " Solo " or some of the underwater scenes in " Deepwatter Horizon ", but I'd guess they will look much better now too ( they looked good before ). Too many movies, not enough time !
