That is true, but owning an RS4500 the 4K panel and it's tack sharp clarity is one of it's greatest strong suits. Seems to me that jumping to a native 8K panel is having the buggy before the horse so to speak? I would rather see a native 4K unit with increased contrast, more lumens and full P3 w/out the light loss than a native 8K unit. Unless you are sitting 5 feet form the screen I just don't see how going to 8K will really deliver much improvement over native 4K w top tier optics like the RS4500 has. I have never personally seen 8K so maybe it will provide a "slap in the face" improvement but I am skeptical. I don't see in any of the forums where people with native 4K units are clamoring for more pixels so it just seems like maybe more of a marketing ploy than a real technological advance?
Can I say given we have zero info on what else the Z2 will bring to the table other than the quoted 8K native, there's not a lot of point right now in making 'I'd rather have' type statements. I agree though, 8K alone doesn't excite me much, especially with the price tag to match. I mean we'd be looking at upscaled 4K and HD content for years to come, its not like we're going to have matching content to really get the full advantage.
Just got my 3rd replacement Z1/RS4500 today.....Now i get to start from "0" hours again..
Is it me or is this convergence not great? Is a pixel either direction within spec?
What problems are you having?
