I already had that problem a couple of weeks ago watching " The Dark Knight Rises " with the volume set too high to begin with ( careful with that movie ) !

Watched White Christmas which I see dubbed as a loose remake of Holiday Inn. Holiday Inn in my opinion is far far better.

Watched Sicario with my wife ( she hadn't seen it yet ) on 4K BR. Love that movie - holds up quite well with repeat viewings.

I started last July on upgrading my HT and (despite having many numerous "bumps", as in increased reqs) with all the improvements, I'm STILL working on the upgrades.  The main objective was to improve my sound, so I have the Yamaha A3060.  That led to Atmos to achieve 7.2.4, then a 2-ch amp that fits my situation for those RPs, and then the new Atmos blurays.  Now working on a 4K UHD bluray player since my Panasonic is 6 years old.  And then in the Spring there will be a new 4K UHD tv since my Vizio turns out to be limited.  <sigh>  These forums do get expensive...

But that is why I have answers for this questions --  John Wick, In the Heart of the Sea, Everest and Unbroken are the new Atmos releases I've watched.  And a whole slew of re-watches just to hear how great this new HT setup can make a movie sound.  And a long wishlist of 4K blurays coming (my family is wonderful at feeding my habit).

We watched True Grit... (the remake version), and it was very good.

Just picked that movie up. Maybe watch it tonight ( or Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon in 4k ) !

defintily hysterical parts...not as good as the first (sequels rarely are)
