Plot
After stopping a kidnapping in Maine, Reacher infiltrates the criminal empire of Zachary Beck by posing as his son’s bodyguard. His objective: rescue a missing DEA agent and dismantle a smuggling ring—while confronting Fracees Xavier Quinn, a deadly adversary from his past.
My Thoughts
I loved the first season of this show, but found the second season to be a bit wanting. Season 3 continues the familiar formula of hard-hitting action, procedural investigation, and a rotating ensemble of allies and antagonists. The story is serviceable and has its moments, but the pacing is somewhat uneven and there’s a lot of filler in some of the episodes in order to reach the desired runtime. The supporting cast does a decent job and the production value remains high, but it doesn’t reach the heights of the first season.
From a narrative perspective, Ala Ritchson fits the mold of Reacher perfectly. However, I can’t say that his very public political commentary has really turned me off. It has pulled me out of the escapist nature of the show and has significantly dampened my enthusiasm for watching the next season of the show, which is streaming now on Prime—my wife has outright refused. I’m 100% for free speech, but said speech also has consequences and his off-screen political commentary has made the experience of watching the show less enjoyable.
The Blu‑ray presentation is a noticeable improvement over streaming. Image clarity is stronger, backgrounds have more texture, and the overall picture is cleaner. The DTS‑HD MA 5.1 audio track is punchy and well‑balanced, with solid dynamics during action scenes and clear dialogue throughout.

Conclusion
Like season 2, this is somewhat of a letdown from the excellent season one. The action is fun, the production quality is strong, and fans of the character will find enjoyment. However, the uneven pacing and external factors surround the lead actor has spoiled the show for me. That being said, if you’ve enjoyed the series thus far, the Blu-ray of season 3 offers a solid technical presentation and is worth a look.
