From the Toy Robot Video press release:
On September 29, the magical martial arts jidaigeki epic Ninja Wars makes its North American Blu-ray debut. Director Kōsei Saitō (G.I. Samurai) crafts a stylish tale of a royal power grab and dark magic starring Japanese cinema legends Hiroyuki Sanada and Sonny Chiba. The release features a High Definition (1080p) Blu-ray presentation, hours of special features, and newly commissioned extras.
During the Warring States period, the sorcerer Kashin Koji (Mikio Narita, Yakuza Graveyard) reveals to nobleman Donjo Matsunaga (Akira Nakao, Godzilla vs. Destoroyah) the secret to gaining ultimate power: the man who wins the heart of Lady Ukyo (Noriko Watanabe, Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S.) will control the world. Donjo desires her even though she doesn’t love him and is married to a feudal lord. Yagyū Shinzaemon (Sonny Chiba, Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair) warns him that the plan is wrong, but Donjo enlists five supernatural “demon monks” to create an aphrodisiac and make the prophecy a reality. Japan’s only hope is the young ninja warrior Jotaro Fuefuki (Hiroyuki Sanada, Mortal Kombat), who is in love with Lady Ukyo’s sister (also played by Noriko Watanabe). Sonny Chiba choreographed the fantastical fight scenes with his Japan Action Club.
Special features include DTS-HD MA 2.0 mono audio in Japanese; optional English subtitles; a new audio commentary by Jonathan Clements; author Matt Alt on Ninja Wars; author and academic Daisuke Miyao on the ninja in Japanese cinema; theatrical trailers; and the VHS version (in standard definition).

Good looking movie for fans of Japanese martial arts films. The VHS version included in the extras could be an interesting reminder of what home video used to look like.
