The Devil Wears Prada 2
I have seen this movie on Disney+, I have not seen it in the movies or on disc.
The original movie was really presented as a comedic rom-com, with very little “rom.” the best part of both of these movies are the four people who starring them.
In the first movie:
Meryl Streep almost magically becomes a different person in every movie. In the first movie, she’s the head of a fashion magazine, who has a very rigid and unforgiving attitude. First run home run the other way, but more than any other character she shows growth in this movie.
Anne Hathaway portrays a young woman who is trying to make it big in the publishing business.
Stanley Tucci, always terrific, play a wonderful supporting role and helps Anne Hathaway succeed.
Emily Blunt plays a coworker who seems to care more about her career than anything else.
Now the structure for the second movie is something that we have seen before. That is, during the first hour, a situation has to occur where four people, who, at the end of the first movie had separated have some reason to be brought together again. When they interact the movie does everything possible to remind you what happened during the first movie. I don’t mean the plot I mean the interactions between the characters.
Of course, halfway through the movie their will be a crisis where the four have to work together. Or at least three out of the four have to work together.
Again the story here is more character based than plot based and if you like the characters, you’ll enjoy the movie. I found myself impatient with the first 90 minutes, but I actually kinda liked the last 30 where Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci showed their stuff. And of course, there is a happy ending. I wouldn’t call this a good movie, but it is watchable, especially if you like the first one.
