From the Arrow Video press release:
On November 18, buckle up as Red Planet makes its 4K UHD debut. The Martian landscape has never looked more vivid, thanks to a brand-new 4K restoration from the original 35mm camera negative. The limited edition set is packed with hours of special features, collectible packaging, and newly commissioned extras.
The Earth is dying and mankind plans to relocate to Mars after a massive terraforming project. The remote sensors record the oxygen levels dropping before they stop responding. The first manned crew is launched to Mars to see if the decades-long program can be salvaged. The Mars-1 crew consists of Commander Kate Bowman (Carrie-Anne Moss, The Matrix), co-pilot Ted Santen (Benjamin Bratt, Miss Congeniality), science officer Bud Chantilas (Terence Stamp, Superman II), engineer Robby Gallagher (Val Kilmer, Top Gun), bioengineer Quinn Burchenal (Tom Sizemore, Natural Born Killers) and terraformer Chip Pettengill (Simon Baker, The Devil Wears Prada). The six-month journey goes off-course as the crew approaches the Angry Red Planet. A gamma-ray burst slams into their spacecraft, disrupting all systems. Their lander makes a rough, off-target descent onto the Martian surface. The atmosphere-producing algae is gone. The base is in ruins, leaving their spacesuits as the only source of oxygen. To make matters worse, the research robot AMEE has reverted to military mode, and now considers the crew hostile targets. Things aren’t looking good for life on Mars.
Special features include a 4K (2160p) UHD Blu-ray presentation in Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible); original lossless DTS-HD MA 5.1 audio; optional English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing; brand new interviews with crew members; a brand new visual retrospective; deleted scenes; theatrical trailer; and an illustrated collector’s booklet.
