The film has been meticulously remastered and restored, allowing audiences to experience every gun battle with stunning visuals and immersive sound. Tombstone will also be available on digital platforms, including Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and Fandango at Home.

That's great news. Haven't seen it in a long time. Hope they sell a bunch and keep this kind of thing going.

I'm really looking forward to this one in 4K. One of my favorites as well. Val Kilmer should have won a Best Supporting Actor award for his performance as Doc Holiday. Arguably his best performance of his career.

Hmm, never saw this one.  I almost picked up the Blu-ray at one point but picked something else.

Maybe it's a good thing I waited now that the 4K is coming out.

Hmm, for some reason the impression I had about the movie when it was released that it leaned toward the corny/campy/unserious side.  Sounds like that interpretation was completely off base.

Yes. Completely wrong. Not even close to its actuality. Maybe your confusing with another film?

Possibly, but it may also have been influenced by the way the huckleberry quote has been used (misused?) by others ever since its release.

I'm going to give it a shot, regardless.

As bmoney said...not even close. Scott, I can almost guarantee you will love it.

RIP Val Kilmer

Doc Holliday - "say when"

When people immediately have multiple iconic roles that they name upon hearing the news - Doc Holliday, Iceman, Batman, Jim Morrison - that says something.

Definitely have to schedule a Tombstone viewing in a few weeks.

I had the Amazon listing saved to my Wishlist but it's not available now. However, it was the steelbook version and that's the only one I find on Amazon. I don't care to pay the extra for that, so wouldn't be buying that anyway.

With the unfortunate passing of Kilmer I'm sure that's spiked orders. Is there a "regular" UHD version of this? Where are folks ordering it? With Best Buy & Target out, I think I see Zavvi showing it and that's it?

BTW Scott, if you haven't seen it already, you really should read Bill Hunt's writeup (https://thedigitalbits.com/item/tombstone-4k-uhd-steelbook-2025). I didn't know any of the back story on the film and ... it's not a very good one.

No, it's a GREAT one. (To steal from Simon Cowell. :P)

I had read somebody else mention that the DVD version is longer.  Now I'm intrigued by the idea of a director's cut on 4K.  Maybe the apparent brisk sales of this disc will make that a reality?

That was absolutely my first question after reading that! Is an extended version even feasible? I have no idea what the extra footage is like, nor the condition and what would be needed to create one but it's been done plenty of times so I'd think it could be.

There was, at Amazon UK. Much cheaper. Sold out though.
