Just ordered the new " Star Trek Beyond " 4K UHD, and pulled the trigger on " Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon ", which got a tremendous review here - http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Crouching-Tiger-Hidden-Dragon-4K-Blu-ray/162080/#Review
But as good a review picture wise here - http://ultrahd.highdefdigest.com/37158/crouchingtigerhiddendragonultrahdbluray.html
Who has " Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon " on 4K ? Comments ? I'll chime back after it arrives and I watch it.

Greetings,
I have it and think that the UHD rendering is a clear improvement over the 1080p version. This isn't the type of film that will look as sharp or have the image depth of many of the digitally captured films of today. I think that the 4K re-mastering looks great overall.
Regards,

I can't wait to give it a spin ! Thanks Ralph !

I was able to get a copy for less than $20 today at Best Buy. The movie still holds it own after all these years.
I watched it in SDR BT.2020 tonight. There was and still is a good amount of film grain; not that that is a problem. But there are some who will think it should have been "cleaned up". I was impressed.
As good as it looked, the Atmos soundtrack was even better.
I am concerned that I had two dropouts; both audio and video. I will have to watch it again to see if perhaps I got a bad disc.

I have the Star Trek Beyond, and I like it, but I am extremely disappointed in the bass. I looked at my phone spl meter, and the bass at 40hz is 20db lower than at 60hz...other than that it is an excellent movie for demos IMO.

I'm going to watch it tonight, I'll give you some feed back tomorrow regarding bass.

I finally watched the new " Star Trek Beyond " in 4K UHD last night. Picture looked outstanding. I needed to open my manual iris one click from -7 to -6. Watched it without HDR. While some of the movie is a bit dark, outdoor and other scenes were plenty bright. Bass sounded good - I have my Samgung 4K player set to bitstream. Bass will need to be accessed again when the " we like it loud " friends are here, without my wife.

Going to do some comparison tests tonight with some of my new 4K UHD movies.

www.blu-ray.com reports:
Mandarin: Dolby Atmos
English: DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1
Is there an English Dolby Atmos track as well? (hope so)

I don't know, as I never watch foreign films in anything other than the original soundtrack / language. With the exception of " Kung Fu Hustle ", since the dubbed soundtrack makes that movie even funnier !!

I watched Crouching Tiger with my wife last night. Hadn't seen it in years ! Great film. I did not see any dropouts. While there is film grain ( which is fine, since it was shot on film ), the picture overall looked excellent. The night scenes on my RS600 were especially good looking !
