A totally SPOILER Look at the Flash
I have never done this, but this is for people who have seen the movie.
I enjoyed it.
And for several reasons. First, the Flash does not set out to save the world from destruction….yes that comes later. He sets out to build his family, to save his mother and rescue his father. There were no Infinity Stones at first but the other DC movies do tie into this one.
And there is no happy ending to the movie, Barry’s last scene with his mother broke my heart. I can’t remember any super-hero movie doing that. But there is humor throughout the film.
Michael Keaton was almost unrecognizable when first shown. And he becomes Batman again, that was just wonderful.
I enjoyed seeing a parade of former Supermen and Supergirl. Nicholas Cage was cast as Superman but that movie did not go through so it was great surprise to see him in costume. And there were surprises from Wonder Woman, Aquaman and General Zod too! (I wish he was fleshed out more) I also really liked the idea that Barry has eat a lot to keep up his energy. That was never shown in a super-hero movie before.
Ezra Miller was really great as playing two Barry Allans, both very different from each other. You forget it is the same actor playing two roles.
Some critics, I see, did not like the special effects. I see they were trying to make them different from other movies and, at times, it did not work for me either.
And the fight at the end of all super-hero movies are long. In every one of them!!! Yes, it is too long for me too, but that is what the audience likes. Not a perfect movie but a good one that is very good in parts.
