Does 4K UHD really make a difference for old black and white movies?

Movies of that era were captured on film which has an effective resolution that is higher than 1080. So, it could make a noticeable difference if they went back and did a 4K scan of the original film.

Depending on the type and format of film used it can be higher than 4K. For example, 35mm film can have an effective resolution of  5,600 × 3,620 pixels which is "5.6K".

Not mentioned on  the list is the Spider-Man trilogy, the first three movies, is being released in 4k and Atmos. I will get my set tomorrow. It will take a few days to see you all of them but I will review it if no one else is. It will take a few days because it’s three movies.
