I have the Panasonic UB9000 $K player, attached to my JVC 9000 projector. The projector was tuned by a JVC expert and he was the one who recommend this player. I made my intimal settings and got a dramatically good picture.
Someone suggested that I watch a YOUTUBE video featuring the proper settings for the Panasonic 9000 and 820 and I did. I had two of the five or six settings aligned, but learned about several more and so I changed them
The results were spectacular. I went to what I thought was great to something greater. Better color reproduction and better detail. And better black and white.
So If you have a chance watch this video.

Barry,
If you are using DTM in your JVC projector, make sure you don't turn on the Theater Optimizer in the Panasonic. You don't want to have double tone mapping (in the player and a second time in the projector).
