Hi guys, been wanting to clean up the rats nest behind my entertainment unit. Problem is I’m not sure which cables are safe to coil up, loop, etc and zip tie in place. I know speaker wires are a no no and I’m good there they’re cut pretty much to length and tied together. Not sure about my RCA subwoofer cable.
I have a mix of AC cord and AC to DC power bricks (I.e line out of the bricks is DC like for a wife mesh). I’m not sure if it’s safe to tie those up in a coil/narrow loop. The power cables are the biggest mess as I don’t have much spare room on the hdmi cables already to loop them.
Also wondering about cable TV coax as I have the one from the wall to a splitter and two from there to the DVR and internet gateway. They’re the standard comcast supplied ones that are at least 3 feet each.

Power, brick and cable tv cables/cords can be looped, but not to small, and with all your cables never pull the zips too tight, just tight enough to keep then secure but not so much as to deform the outer jacket.
I highly recommend you use velcro straps rather than zips, we all know you’ll need to rearrange to replace, relocate, or track and issue.

Have you thought about a cable tray(s)? You can run those vertically as well as horizontally.
And, you can save space by running your AC/DC power cable along with speaker cables in a tray, or closely grouped they are, after all, all a “power” source.
