I watched it last night. Interesting concept, but there are quite a few leaps of logic. Carey Mulligan is excellent in the lead though and it's worth watching for her performance, but I'm not sure I'd call the film a "masterpiece" as it's being dubbed by some reviewers. I should have a review up later today or sometime tomorrow.

More than one person that has seen it said they didn't find it Oscar worthy. And since I never watch the Oscar's anyway, I'm looking forward to some of the new movies coming out soon, like " The King's Men ", " Top Gun : Maverick " and the new Bond film, way more than anything on the current " Best Picture " list.

For me it’s not about watching the oscars. It’s part of film history. So I always try to see the films nominated for best picture. Best actor/actress etc.

This will be no different. For example tonight I’m watching either Judas, trial of 7 or sound of metal

If I'm not interested in the film, or worse - think it will suck, it makes no difference - film history or not. And there have been quite a few nominees, and even a few Best Picture winners, that I thought were not only not that great, but manipulative crap. Now that we have " Woke " critics, I expect things to get worse.

Last year had a lot of great nominees. I saw 6 out of the 9. But the bottom line - I have to be motivated to see it - nominated or not. I have a lot of other things to watch ( about 56 movies and a series or two on my plate currently ) without seeing anything new at all. Generally though, I'll wait until long after the Oscars are over and decide which movies to watch, based on reviews, audience and critic. And this years BP list doesn't really do much for me.
