Plot: A female corporate assassin uses high tech mind control techniques to take control of un-suspecting people and use them as weapons to execute certain individuals. But does she start losing herself and her mind in the process ?
My Thoughts: David Cronenberg’s son Brandon has learned well from his Dad how to make a creepy horror movie. My guests and I watched this last week. Very clever execution ( pun intended ), great gory special effects, and a good plot twist at the end. Warning – this movie is very bloody. The plot is not a new idea, but we liked the way it was done, and the cast ( Andrea Riseborough from Oblivion, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Sean Bean ) is very good.
Video: 9/10 – overall I thought this 4K disc look excellent. Sharp, detailed and excellent color – maybe too good during bloody scenes. No complaints here.
Audio: 8.5/10 -The DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track is no slouch. Surround channels and LFE are used to great effect at times – and add to the dread when called for.
Conclusion: if you like sci fi horror / conspiracy films, and don’t mind a little ( LOT ! ) of blood, I liked this, as did my guests. Recommended.
