Title: Outdoor Patio TV
Post by: tripplej on October 28, 2020, 07:49:35 PM
Hi guys,

I am looking at getting an outdoor patio TV.

Do you have any recommendations?

Typically, we don't use the regular TV we use in the house since outdoor specific TV's are more situated to handle outdoor elements, right?

Any suggestions?

My neighbor just bought a Samsung from Costco (not labeled for outdoors, but he figured for $300 if it lasted 3-5 years he'd be happy). Granted, I'm in California where we don't get snow and in his case his TV is covered 100% by a patio cover and never gets wet (outside of fog and dew, which we get throughout the winter). I think it's been 5 years already and the TV is still going strong.

That is good to hear David.

I did find that you can get a regular indoor tv and just put a shield on it.

I may do this option..

An actual weatherized TV would be too expensive from skyvue  (https://skyvue.com/)and sunbrite  (https://www.sunbritetv.com/)brands.

Or as your friend did, just buy a really cheap TV and use it till it malfunctions and then just replace it. lol. :)
