A review of the LG OLED77C9PUB
This set is just great. I am having an unbelievable good time with it.
We had the LG (4K) OLED 65 EC7 and I thought it was the best TV I had ever seen. This beats, it is like having a movie theater in your own home. We have had the set for a week and we watch the following:
1. Verizon Cable TV
2. Broadcast TV
3. Oppo 4k 205
4. Streaming from the TV (Hulu, Netflix and Amazon.)
The set came usually ready to use. That is, LG and other manufacturers often have default settings that you shouldn’t use. Here the ECO picture (economy) picture was off (this degrades the picture. The “Tru-Motion” which gives the soap opera effect was also off. So we started out with a good picture and played with it.
The colors, and contrast were terrific. Motion was perfect. And the big screen you into the picture. When we saw the beginning of “The Return of the Jedi” (not even on a blu ray, but on TBS) we got dizzy as the ships came from overhead.
Sports: We watched over the weekend, Baseball, Football and Tennis. When the Tru Motion is set you often had lost the ball in flight, it became the color of the background. No so here with it off. You saw the tennis, baseball and football spinning.
The Blu-Rays look great from the Oppo and the 4k, which turns on the sets Dolby Vision gives you color and detail like I have not ever seen before. Actually better than a movie. Streaming was great. The over the air broadcasts are slightly better than the Verizon broadcasts, but Verizon is still very, very good.
Too Nit-pick, two complaints. I don’t like the remote. Not enough controls, the pointer leads you to menus. My harmony works quicker and better. Both here and on the other LG the sound from the smart TV seems compressed and not as good as the picture. I have to try my Amazon Fire stick.

WOW, a 77" 4K OLED !!! ??? :) :-* That's almost, take down the projector size.
Congrats on grabbing it before the trade war with South Korea China. ::)

That is personal! I shouldn't tell you that it was $5,350, which included delivery and mounting.:) I think it was released at almost $7,000.

Too small. No TV will replace my projector until they are 10 feet across and 2.00:1.

I'm more of a 92" guy myself although I love the 2.00:1 ratio. 92" is really the largest screen that I can accommodate in my room without going floor to ceiling.
My ceilings are a bit low.

I can do 60" tall ( that's the height of my current 16:9 screen ) and 120" wide ( depending on projector throw ratios ) with a projector. A Micro LED display - I could do 13' wide ( 156" ) x 78" tall - for a 174.4" diagonal 2.00:1 screen. That's as big as I could go !
