Our friends at Kino Lorber Studio Classics have just revealed that they’re going to be releasing Michel Gondry’s Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004) on 4K Ultra HD sometime in 2021, licensed from Focus Features—a great sign that more deep catalog Focus titles may be coming to the format as well.

Glad to see other Scott Pilgrim vs the World fans here. I don't know why, but after one viewing, this became one of my favorite movies. I have it on Bluray, but if the 4k/HDR versions improves it enough, I may have to include this in my my small 'double-dip' category!

I have never seen this movie. Maybe the 4K will push me over the edge to see it.

I hope they keep favorite titles coming remastered in 4K. Watched a little bit of " Moulin Rouge " last night. That movie would look spectacular remastered in 4K, with a full blow Dolby Atmos soundtrack!

Just arrived!
Just watched Looper UHD disc. I am so glad I rented it instead of purchase. Some scenes were like someone turned up a brightness knob to 11, and others where the same was done to contrast. It was so uneven.
Now I need to watch the HD Blu-Ray again.

Same here. It looked great on my RS4500 and Lumagen doing the DTM, although I only watched parts of it. The soundtrack is certainly off the rails on the 4K UHD disc.

Looper review -
" Looper was shot on 35 mm photochemical film using Panavision Panaflex Gold II and Millennium XL2 cameras with Panavision anamorphic lenses. It was originally finished as a 2K Digital Intermediate at the 2.39:1 aspect ratio. For its release in Ultra HD, Sony has rescanned the camera negative in native 4K and upsampled the VFX shots to create a new 4K Digital Intermediate, complete with new grading for high dynamic range (both HDR10 and HDR10+ are included on this disc). This UK edition is by Entertainment One. (A US release from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment is expected later this year or early next.) It should be noted that Looper has always had a gritty, high-contrast appearance, with bleached highlights and many scenes that are slightly desaturated to create a very particular “hard-boiled” look. That look has been preserved well here in 4K, albeit with a notable improvement in fine detail and crisp texturing for non-VFX shots—detail and texture that’s readily apparent in virtually everything on the screen. And when it comes to the VFX, Johnson and Yedlin have designed them not to have too much detail. They’re full of atmospherics, with just enough resolution to sell the effect but not so much that every shot looks uncanny valley in the way of The Phantom Menace. So the upsampling here works just fine. Grain is light to medium, but organic always. The expanded contrast of HDR results in truly black blacks, but more shadow detail in interiors and night shots, while the highlights are bold, again enhancing the slightly bleached look. Colors are stylized but vibrant and well nuanced within those parameters. This isn’t a 4K image that you’d traditionally call reference-grade, but’s it’s absolutely perfect for this particular film. (I strongly suspect that Yedlin and Johnson were involved and/or approved each step of this remaster.)"

Singing In The Rain and The Lost Boys coming to 4K!
" And I promised you a little a little more Warner Bros. catalog 4K news, didn’t I? Well, our industry sources are now telling us to expect Joel Schumacher’s The Lost Boys to arrive in 4K Ultra HD from the studio next year, along with Gene Kelly and Stanley Donen’s Singin’ in the Rain. The former celebrates its 35th anniversary in 2022, while the latter celebrates its 70th. It should be noted that Tobe Hooper’s Poltergeist and Michael Curtiz’s Casablanca also celebrate major anniversaries next year (the 40th and 80th, respectively), so consider those possible for release in 4K nextyear as well. (But note that I don’t have any kind of confirmation on those as yet.)
