Title: DD-WRT firmware
Post by: NBPk402 on December 07, 2016, 12:01:58 PM
Does anyone have any experience with this firmware update for routers? It was suggested I get this when i had a problem with my Netgear Nighthawk R7000 router. The router was giving varying readings from 1 Mbps to 260Mbps so we did a factory reset, and installed the firmware. The problem is now solved (not sure, but the factory reset could have been the problem). The new firmware has a ton of settings in it, and I haven't a clue what to do in it. I also found http://www.howtogeek.com/167783/htg-explains-the-difference-between-wep-wpa-and-wpa2-wireless-encryption-and-why-it-matters/ on what to do about WiFi Security, and it recommends the Firmware i installed.
