Picture 9/10
Sound 9/10
Movie 9.5/10
It's harder judging older catalog titles like The Matrix. That said, this movie has never looked better. The detail in a lot of shots is just amazing. This was such a ground breaking movie when it first came out - I'm glad to see it get a 4K remaster. Audio sounded excellent too. If you are a fan of this film, picking this up is a no - brainer !

More screen shots with the JVC RS4500 projector -

And a few more. The Panamorph Paladin DCR lens really helps kick up the brightness on this movie !

I watched it too and thought it looked great...huge improvement over the old and new BD (which has whites blown out).

It's great to see these films on 4K. More screen shots -

Just catching up on the BD reviews. The Matrix was one of those seminal experiences when it came out in the theater, in terms of effects plus a cool story. It holds up well, and I thought some of the audio was definitely Atmos demo material. Very enjoyable.

The Matrix 4K Blu-ray,
I have the older disc of it.
Have to put the much newer 4K on the list.

As much as I love the matrix. Is equally how much I despise 2 and 3. Went from wow that’s a cool concept. To over the top Sci-fi. And with that I’m out

I like all three. On the other hand, I despise all of the Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter films. if you told me I had to either watch those films, or duel you to the death, my guns are loaded. :-X

Barry, they look great on Blu-ray, but if the money is burning a hole in your pocket, go for it :)

I like all three films, and the upgrade both picture and sound wise ( be sure to manually select Dolby Atmos when playing ) is pretty substantial IMO.

If you have a good Atmos setup it's an excellent example for a catalog movie.
IMO getting the trilogy just depends on whether you enjoyed the other 2. I did not like #2, and #3 was better but not enough to buy. I only own #1 on any format.
