We usually do not post prices in a forum, but one short call is usually worth it. :)

I try not to waste anyone's time if I can find out up front whether or not something fits my budget. I just figured it's your own forum and there are deals and closeouts posted in the "AVS Special Deals" thread.

B-stock JVC start at $1,999 and up. So if your budget is $2,000 or more, then well worth your time. :)

With the low end B-Stock on sale for that price, I think it's appropriate to remind anyone on the fence what I wrote in my RS420 review:
The RS420 represents, in my opinion, the best value in home theater projection. There are a few areas where I’d like to see JVC improve upon, but the sum of all its parts culminates into one of the most refined viewing experiences I’ve ever seen. I never get a sense that any aspect of its image is lacking. This is what makes the RS420 such a compelling value. JVC has reached a point of refinement where we’re really nitpicking when discussing faults. Because of this, I have no problem recommending the RS420 to anyone in the market for a projector near its price point. Overall, I don’t think you can do any better!
And this was in reference to an RS420 at MSRP pricing. At the B-Stock price, buying one is a no-brainer. The RS420 gives Sony's $8000 385ES stiff competition (and beats it in a few areas) in overall image quality. That's how good it is. And the next step up from JVC, their 5xx series models, are also worth your consideration if your budget is even higher. The extra contrast and color capabilities is definitely worth the extra cost.

Please let me know when a RS1000 B-Stock is available.
I've been out the game for a few years. I've been using my 4910U B-Stock from AVS for some time now holding out the for an "affordable" JVC laser based FP, but alas, I have my doubts that is going to happen in the next 4-6 years.
I am currently using the Panamorph UH480 lens at a throw ratio of 1.5 and I am curious if that will still work with a newer model, specifically a 4K native one.
Best,
Matt

I'm so late to the game but would you happen to have the NX5 in stock?
If not, I can definitely wait and will keep my eyes peeled daily in here. Wanting to set up my first theater room :)
Thank you!

So the pros of a b-stock model are pretty self-explanatory but what are the cons? Is there far more variation from unit to unit than you’d see with a new one?

Not sure about unit variations. Only one year warranty from JVC is one disadvantage ( a Mack warranty can fix that ). The biggest con is we can't get very many right now. Like almost none !

Cons
Only one year warranty.
No advanced replacement.
Some hours on the projector.
Some hours on the lamp.

4500 B-stock available. Note the 4500 does have 3 year warranty. First one in nearly a year. Call us for details.
-
Some B-stock available.
RS1000
RS3000
RS4500
Also some new A-stock RS2000's and RS4500.
We were told there would not be any more RS1000/NX5's nor RS2000/NX7's, new or B-stock. Apparently that was not true.
